Reclaim — End User Licence Agreement

Version 1.0 — 24 August 2026

This software is provided by Innovative Solutions, a company based in Romania ("the Company"). By installing or using Reclaim ("the Software") you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, do not install the Software.

1. Licence

The Company grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Software on computers you own or control. The Software is licensed, not sold.

2. What the Software installs

The Software installs two things: an application you run, and a Windows service that runs in the background under the LocalSystem account.

The service exists so that the application never has to. Reading a volume's master file table requires privileges that an ordinary program does not have, and the alternative to a service is asking you to approve an elevation prompt every time you open a window. The service reads; it does not create, modify, move or delete anything on your disks.

3. Deleting files is irreversible

The Software exists to help you find space and, when you choose to, to free it. Deleting a file is not something the Company can undo for you.

The Company takes this seriously. Deletions run in the ordinary application under your own Windows account and never through the privileged service, so the Software cannot delete anything you could not have deleted yourself. Windows directories, program directories and the volume root are refused outright. Every deletion is described before it happens, and the Recycle Bin is offered first.

You are responsible for your own backups. These measures reduce the risk of losing something you wanted; they do not remove it. Before deleting anything you should have a current backup of whatever you cannot afford to lose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company accepts no liability for loss of data arising from a deletion you instructed the Software to perform, whether or not a backup existed.

4. Suggestions the Software makes

The Software marks some folders as build output or dependency caches — the kind that are rebuilt from something already on your computer. This is a judgement made from folder names and what is lying beside them, and it can be wrong. It is a suggestion about where to look and never an instruction, and nothing is ever deleted without you asking for it.

5. Information collected

The Software uses no account, and it never transmits your file names, folder names, paths, or the contents of any file. What it does send to the Company is limited to the following.

Updates. To keep itself current, the Software periodically contacts the Company's server and sends a random installation identifier — generated on install, not derived from your hardware and not tied to your identity — together with the version it is running and the display language and country configured in Windows.

Diagnostics. By default the Software also sends anonymous diagnostics: reports of crashes, and of internal self-checks that did not add up, each accompanied by the *shape* of the volume involved — its filesystem type, its total and free size, and its file and folder counts. These reports never contain a file name, a folder name, a path, or the contents of any file. You may turn diagnostics off at any time in Settings.

Disk alerts. If, and only if, you turn on disk alerts and enter an email address, the Software reports to the Company's server when a volume is low on space or filling quickly, and the Company emails the alert to the address you provided. The report carries the volume's letter, filesystem and size figures and nothing more. This is off unless you enable it.

Apart from the above, everything the Software learns about your disks stays on the computer it learned it from.

6. No warranty

The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising out of the use of or inability to use the Software.

8. Termination

This licence terminates automatically if you breach its terms. On termination you must stop using the Software and remove it from your computers.

9. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Romania.
